Where can I purchase a membership?
You can purchase a membership for $15 at any NOSFA film screening. You can also buy online by clicking HERE! We show films on Thursday nights, once or twice a month at Silver City. Each film has two showings per night at 6:30 and 8:30 – 9 PM.
Do I need to purchase a membership to see a film?
No. The admission to a film for non-members is $9. During the festival it is $10.
When does the membership expire?
The membership lasts from time of purchase until the conclusion of the season. The NOSFA season runs from late September to the end of April/beginning of May.
Why should I buy a membership?
Members save on admission prices – $6.00 for members vs. $9.00 for non-members per film. See a few films during the season and the membership pays for itself! In addition to discounted admission, members receive our e-blasts about upcoming films and festival updates.
How do I find out about upcoming films?
Our facebook page is updated a few times a week! We can also be found on the web at www.nosfa.ca for the latest info. The Chronicle-Journal will feature a NOSFA ad & we try to be highlighted in the paper’s “What to Do” section. We also place ads in the TB Source weekly newspaper for upcoming films..
Tell me about the Film Festival!
The first Northwest Film Fest was staged in NOSFA’s second year of operation, in late winter 1994, screening eight films over a four-day period. The festival employed a two-screen format, gradually growing in quantity over the years at different local cinemas including the Paramount 1 and 2, and the Odeon Victoria 1 and 2. From roughly 2000 to 2009, the festival employed at first four then all five screens at the Cumberland Theatre. At SilverCity, NOSFA currently employs a two-screen format for the Northwest Film Fest.
How can I volunteer?
We need many volunteers during the festival and at our regular screenings. Volunteer opportunities include handing out information, taking tickets, working the membership table, and ushering patrons to their seats. If you would like to volunteer for the festival or during the regular season, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our membership form also has a volunteer section that can be filled out and added to our database.
